Outdoor Research Alpine XT Bivy Bag, Grey (pewter)

Outdoor Research Alpine XT bivy bag in Grey (pewter)

A waterproof, breathable bivy bag with added headroom, passive airflow, and a mesh screen for clearer nights under the stars.

The Alpine XT is a bivy bag from Outdoor Research that combines a waterproof, breathable and durable build with a more spacious updated shape. The added headroom should make the shelter feel less cramped than a low-profile bivy, while the passive ventilation flap is there to help airflow when conditions allow.

A mesh screen gives you the option to look out at the night sky without fully opening up the shelter, which is a useful detail for nights when you want a bit more visibility while still keeping the bivy closed in. The Grey (pewter) colour keeps the look understated.

What’s included

• Approximate total weight of 593.9 g
• 4 aluminium pegs
• 1 guy line loop

Points to consider before buying

• The bivy is described as waterproof, breathable and durable, but no specific rating is provided in the source data.
• Added headroom may be welcome if you prefer a less restrictive bivy shape.
• The mesh screen and ventilation flap are useful features, but they do not replace the need to manage condensation and site choice carefully.
