Outdoor Research Bug Bivy, Black, One Size

Light insect shelter for minimalist nights outdoors

A simple bug bivy with a mesh upper and nylon floor, made for low-bulk shelter from insects.

The Outdoor Research Bug Bivy in Black is a compact bivy bag built around straightforward bug protection. It uses a 100% polyester mesh upper with a 2L, 100% nylon plain weave taffeta floor, giving you a simple mix of airflow above and a more robust base below.

For campers and hikers who want to keep insects out without carrying a full tent, this kind of setup makes sense as a stripped-back shelter layer. The One Size fit keeps the listing simple, and the black colour gives it a low-key look.

What the materials tell you

• The mesh upper helps keep the top section open and breathable.
• The nylon taffeta floor gives the bottom a different construction from the upper section.
• The listed materials are clear and uncomplicated, which is useful if you prefer to know exactly what you are getting.

Before you choose it

• This is a bivy bag, so it is better suited to minimalist shelter needs than to roomy camping comfort.
• The listing does not provide size measurements, weather ratings, or included accessories.
• Because the product information is limited, it is best suited to buyers who already know they want a basic bug bivy rather than a feature-heavy shelter.

The current listing also shows this item as a Buy Box Winner and notes that it does not violate MAP, but those are marketplace details rather than product features.
