MT Army Modular Sleeping Bag System with Bivy Cover, Olive Drab

MT modular sleeping bag system with bivy cover in olive drab

A multi-layer modular sleeping bag system with bivy cover, designed for separate or combined use across a wide range of conditions.

This is a multi-layer sleeping bag system built around separate pieces that can be used together or on their own. The set includes a bivy cover, a patrol or recon sleeping bag, an intermediate cold weather sleeping bag, and a large waterproof stuff sack.

How the system is put together

• The bivy cover uses waterproof, breathable fabric with wind-resistant, fully seam-pressed construction.
• The patrol or recon sleeping bag uses nylon ripstop and high-grade military filling.
• The intermediate sleeping bag uses Polarguard HV filling and is described as retaining some insulation even when wet.
• The large stuff sack is made of waterproof nylon and is sized to hold the patrol sleeping bag, the intermediate sleeping bag, and the bivy cover.

What to expect in use

The modular design is intended to give you different combinations for different conditions, from lighter use through to colder weather. According to the listing, the pieces can be used separately or together, with the full system aimed at a very wide temperature range.

• The patrol or recon bag is listed with a comfortable temperature recommendation of 5 to 15 degrees, with an extreme low of -1 degree.
• The intermediate bag is listed with a comfortable temperature recommendation of -15 to 0 degrees.
• Used together with the patrol sleeping bag, the listing says the system can reach -40 degrees, with a comfortable range of -30 to -20 degrees.

Details worth checking before you buy

• The bivy cover is listed in olive drab.
• The patrol or recon bag includes a double-sided heavy-duty YKK zip and head Velcro for opening and closing the top cover.
• The listing gives the bivy cover size as 86.6 x 35.4 x 28 inches.
• The patrol or recon bag is listed from 91.7 x 37 inches wide to 91.7 x 24 inches narrow.
• The intermediate bag is listed from 87 x 35.4 inches wide to 87 x 22.8 inches narrow.

Because this is a modular system rather than a single sleeping bag, it suits buyers who want flexibility and are happy to manage multiple layers and pieces. The size and temperature figures come from the listing, so they are best treated as the seller’s stated guidance rather than independent testing data.
