Fire-Maple FMS-X2 Fixed Star 2 personal cooking system, Black

Fire-Maple FMS-X2 Fixed Star 2 personal cooking system in Black

A compact 1L gas cooking system with piezo ignition, folding handle and pot support, made for simple hot drinks and meals outdoors.

This compact cooking system brings together a stove, 1L pot and supporting parts in one small package, so it is easier to pack and carry than a loose stove-and-pan setup. The black finish keeps the look simple and the folding handle helps it sit neatly in your bag.

The pot and stove are made from stainless steel and aluminium, and the system uses piezo electronic ignition for starting the burner. According to the listing, it can be used in both low and high altitude conditions.

Why shoppers choose this style of stove

• The 1L pot capacity suits single-person cooking and hot drinks.
• The heat exchanger is listed as helping boil 0.5L of water in around 100 seconds.
• The system is said to be up to 30% faster than a traditional backpacking stove.
• It includes a fuel canister stand and extra pot holder, with the parts fitting inside the pot for packing.
• Three black insulating sleeves are included.

Points to keep in mind before ordering

• A 230g gas canister is mentioned in the listing, but it is not included.
• The folded size is listed as 133 x 205 mm, with an unfolded size of 254 x 265 mm.
• The product is described as suitable for camping, hiking, backpacking and other outdoor trips, but it is still a compact personal system rather than a large group cooker.

For coffee, tea, a quick meal or a warm drink at camp, this is the kind of stove setup that keeps the kit simple and contained.
